My daughter started playing tennis in her freshman year. On her high school team we met a player, who later went to win states that year, who was a great all around player. We asked her parents who was her coach and were told the name Roosevelt. We called him and at our introductory meeting he asked us what our goal for our daughter was. We told him we wanted her to learn the game, to play in the top six at her high school, and if possible for her to play in college. After accessing her skills, he was very straight- forward and let us know that he would have to fix her technique, work on her footwork, her serve, and her general knowledge. He basically had to build her game from the ground up.He told us that she was starting late, but with an increase in lessons and consistent schedule, he believed it was possible.
After one year, her groundstrokes improved, her serve was great, and she was improving. She enjoyed the lessons even when they would get tough. We made the decision then for her to start going 2-3 times a week and to the summer camps. Each year we saw so many improvements. Three years later she has a great foundation of groundstrokes, footwork, volleys, and strategy. He has built up her confidence and her mental fortitude. He has been an excellent mentor for her. She has been looked at and contacted by a few colleges. We are so happy to announce she will sign with a D2 university next month. Words cannot explain the gratitude we feel having Roosevelt Cooper as our daughter’s coach.

Coach Roosevelt is a local Hero! He’s not just a tennis coach. He’s a life coach. 110% invested in each and every one of his tennis kids reaching their maximum potential and more.
My daughter started tennis at an older age and had some bad habits. Rose took charge and surprised himself and everyone else. He methodically approached intensely fixing 1 thing at time, but within a schema. Tennis camp last year was phenomenal !!! He inspired all his subcoaches to consistently engage every kid in his methods and the coaches are all coming back for more this year. And they don’t forget conditioning either -creating plans He makes it fun. Rose looks up videos and sends them out with pointers and discussions. He just goes above & beyond the call of duty.
He shows up to watch all of their tournaments and coaches. He researches methods to improve specific problems your kid is struggling with. He’s developed a whole methodology, based on cutting edge tennis developments. He is able to communicate this effectively to the kids. The proof is in the results: my daughters JTT team won regionals.
Rose is both a disciplined, demanding coach and an inspiring, comical, charming leader whose natural instincts are to use positive encouragement. He makes kids want to work hard because they believe and see how well they can do.The kids follow the example Rose sets: he models respect, collegiality, good sportsmanship and dedication. Coach Rose not only wants his kids to be tennis champions but also to be leaders in their community with qualities to be admired. He’s my Hero.

It’s hard to put into words just how important Coach Cooper is to our family. Not only is he one of the best tennis coaches in the region—but, he may be one of the best people we’ve ever met as well.
We began working with Coach Cooper in 2019, when my daughter, already a strong tennis player, had hit a plateau. We were looking for someone who could help her take her game to the next level, and Coach Cooper came highly recommended. From our very first meeting, we knew he was special. His gregarious personality and infectious positivity were immediately apparent. After just one session with my daughter, he had already identified key areas for improvement and laid out a clear plan for her development.
By the start of her next season, the results were undeniable. She had not only increased her power but also significantly improved her consistency. She became a force on the court, beating tough competition at both the regional and state levels. Her progress caught the attention of several Division III college programs, and she was recruited thanks in large part to the transformative coaching she received from Coach Cooper. My daughter worked incredibly hard, but it was Coach Cooper’s inspired guidance that truly unlocked her potential.
When my son—six years younger—met Coach Cooper for the first time, he turned to me and said, “Dad, that’s the nicest adult I’ve ever met.” He immediately asked if Coach Cooper could be his coach too. Since then, he’s been making impressive strides, just like his sister, under Coach Cooper’s mentorship.
What truly sets Coach Cooper apart is more than just his technical expertise—though he is undoubtedly brilliant in that regard. It’s his rare ability to connect with students in a meaningful, positive way. He has that “it factor” that’s impossible to teach and incredibly rare to find.
Coach Cooper has been an inspiration not only to my children but to my wife and me personally. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a coach who can help their student grow—both as a tennis player and as a person.
